It is an all-bronze, self-priming, metal-impeller raw water pump: driven from the engine gear train through its splined shaft and four-hole drive adapter, it draws sea water through the strainer and pushes it through the heat exchanger and aftercooler before it leaves with the exhaust. Gilkes pumps are specified on Cummins commercial marine engines for long service life with no rubber impeller to change. Inlet and outlet are upward-facing elbows on V-band clamps, both fitted, and the gasket is supplied in its bag. Condition: brand new, unused in its original Cummins box — light tarnish on the bronze castings from storage. Price £2,999.99.
