Genuine Caterpillar C27 crankshaft, CAT part number 225-6053, brand new and never installed with the manufacturer's tag still attached — the tag reads 225-6053, 10E128293 and 219-4457, and the forging number 10E128293 is also stamped into the crankshaft web itself (see photos). The crankshaft is the forged steel shaft that converts the reciprocating motion of the pistons into rotation and carries the main and connecting-rod bearing journals, so it is the core rotating component of the engine and the part replaced on a major bottom-end rebuild or after a bearing failure. This is an OEM-spec forged unit produced by ThyssenKrupp, Caterpillar's forging supplier, with precision-machined journals and designed for high-load continuous duty. Fits Caterpillar C27 engines as used in industrial generator sets, marine propulsion, oil and gas equipment and heavy construction machinery. Supplied with Caterpillar's crankshaft cleaning special instruction, and a bearing is included. Condition: new surplus, never used, protected and crated. Price £6,000 plus VAT.
